It's been such a long time since I last posted that I'm not sure if anybody out there is reading..or waiting for me to speak.
The most exciting news is that I have officially completed my nursing studies. It has taken two and a half years, so many tired brain cells and many tears but finally, finally I am qualified. I must admit by the end of the course all my creative energy was gone. I couldn't stitch or paint, I couldn't be bothered to draw.. in fact even doodling took on a weird nursey theme -
Thankfully I am free of the classroom, at least for a little while and working in the industry. I love what I am doing, and I am relieved to find that I am not freaking out at the 'icky' stuff!
So the next biggest news here is that Abby has a little brother and she's soooooo not happy! This is Teddy
He's a Cavoodle - Cavalier crossed with Poodle.
Right now he is 11 weeks old, completely rough and fearless, not even sort of house trained, without manners or sense of danger and very very naughty. But he's also cute. But so naughty, but cute.... even while he's ripping apart a cushion that he's dragged out of the linen cupboard.. Oh Dear!
So in between working, parenting and cleaning up after the new addition I am finally back into my greatest love - Buttons! Stitching! Painting!
I am trying like crazy to get all my Christmas stock replenished so I had a day painting Nativitys
I have also restocked lots of Christmas trees, baubles, sleighs and snowmen.. It seems that the 'Christmas' themed magazines hit the shelves earlier each year, there are already several Christmas in July's and next will be Country Christmas, followed by Early Christmas and no doubt Last Minute Christmas...
On rare precious occassions I get to go and stitch with my friend Carolyn, who owns Veronica Violet Stitcheries in picturesque Rutherglen. She has been a constant encourager and soumnding board for me from the very beginning of Button Bliss and I love sitting and chatting with her. She has an amazing range of fabulous fabric, lots of pretty embellishments, kits, patterns and a never ending supply of tea and coffee! Her stitching room is the lightest, brightest classroom I've ever stitched in. The only draw back to visiting for a stitching day.. is I tend to talk too much, buy too much and get far too little actual stitching done!
So my entire days stitching effort was----
LOL!! I also found a yummy little stack of fabric which just had to come home with me.
So that's about it for me right now.. lots of buttons being created here and time and energy to devote to my lovely crafty friends.
Have a happy, stitchy week,
Lisa
Hey Lisa! CONGRATULATIONS!!! well done on sticking with your studies to the end. Studying is hard at any time, let along while running a family and a craft business, so you deserve lots of pats on the back. We all have 'creative drought' periods at various times for various reasons. I think if you just wait til the time is right, the creative juices start flowing again and you get to enjoy that creative process ... looking forward to seeing where yours flows next! :0) Love the little nativity buttons, but am firmly in denial that Christmas is creeping closer ... it is still January in MY world! Tee! Hee! Hee! Bear Hugs! KRIS
