“Are you upset little friend? Have you been lying awake worrying? Well, don’t worry…I’m here. The flood waters will recede, the famine will end, the sun will shine tomorrow, and I will always be here to take care of you.” -Charlie Brown to Snoopy
What a gorgeous weekend we've been having! The kids are all happy and playing (Well not Jack - 14yr olds don't really "play" they mooch).
Yesterday it was a lovely sunny afternoon, and Sarah and Lani were out playing schools with the next door neighbours kids.
How times have changed! I used to love playing schools at my friend Annette's house because in their basement they had a massive blackboard, and Oh-Joy-Of-Joys a proper blackboard duster. I loved trying to write on the board and we'd play for hours.
So yesterday I felt a little twinge of nostalgia as my girls announced they were playing schools. Out to the grass I followed and there they sat, four little girls with their books and pencils, and..... their laptops! What????
Sarah has inherited a barbie toy laptop from her cousin, the neighbours have those educational v-tech kids laptops, and Lani had set up her DS as a Blackberry! I couldn't help feeling like they were missing out on something. I asked if they wanted to go around the back and use our chalkboard like a real teacher, they shook their heads laughing. They don't use chalkboards at school anymore. It's a whiteboard, or touch sensitive computer screen. Teacher can type notes in his laptop and it appears on the board.
I think our gorgeous fat fluffy guy Ginger was playing the part of teacher, he strolled over and plonked himself down in the middle.
And look who was playing Hookey, hanging out behind the shelter shed (well okay it was the carport, but I'm using poetic licence here)
This is Yoshi our 6 month old. He was so scatty and hyper when he first arrived, I really didn't think he was going to fit into a house with lots of kids, but he has settled down to a happy , friendly smoochy boy.
Megan is recovering nicely. She is much more her smiley self today, Many thanks to those of you who sent well wishes .
Now I have to tell you, something is happening here.
Something ENORMOUS actually.
Something, well, I don't want to give too much away, but if you be patient I will share all about it soon.
But I will give you a little hint.
My husbands alter-ego is Clark (and no I don't mean Clark Kent)
