This weekend marks the opening of the Wangaratta Stitched Up Festival. Every year this event gets bigger and better with exhibitions and special markets, classes and fundraising events all taking place over the next 3 weeks. The Stitched Up Festival celebrates all artisans working with cloth, from patchwork and quilting, to knitting, felting and free style art forms. If you get the chance, come for a wander to Wangaratta, (it's great wine country too!!) and enjoy the festival.
A good friend of mine , the gorgeous Carolyn from Veronica Violet Stitcheries will be Stitching with her Thursday Ladies At Wangaratta Gloria Jeans Coffee House from 9am to 1pm on 26th June, 3 July, and 10 July. I plan to have my bottom on a seat at her table, stitching away and drinking a hazelnut latte. If you'd like to come along and say hello, we'll be the ones with fabric and floss, laughing and having a ball!
I will also be teaching a Painted Backgrounds Class at Veronica Violet Stitcheries on the 12th July, I am truly addicted to painting/ colouring my stitchery backgrounds now. It just adds a new dimension to my work and puts my individual stamp on it. I m always amazed at these classes how 10 woman can take the same design and each create a totally unique piece of work. This time we are playing with Acrylics, watercolour pencils and artists soft pastels. FUN FUN FUN....
I just had to show you the new patterns I've loaded to my site:
AND FAIRY FLOSS
Aren't they pretty! They are designed by Carolyn and incorporate Chenille with patchwork blocks to make the softest, snuggliest quilts I ever felt! They would be perfect for A Little Girl moving into her first "Big Girl" bed or for a teenager ready to break away from the Little Girl bedroom to something a bit more Funky.
It's fun watching toddlers coming past at craft shows. Carolyn usually has one of these quilts at the front of the stand and even little babies love to run their little chubby hands across these quilts and they never want to let go- So Cute !
